The Pledge of Allegiance

I don't know why, but I suddenly recalled this moving recitation by comedian Red Skelton today. Although this was given in 1969, he lived to see prayer in schools eliminated, so he obviously was concerned with what might come next. If he only knew how insightful he was being back then. The enemies of this country are out to erase all references to God in our public life and are succeeding at an alarming rate. But this is  only the first step,  as stripping religion from our private life is the ultimate goal. It just occurred to me, that if atheists were so convinced that God isn't real, then why would they care if we go on living a lie, unless it is because they know in their heart we speak the Truth, and feel threatened by it.

A "True Conservative's Reaction To Mitt Romney's Imminent Nomination (Part III)

As I continue to reflect on the absolute certainty now that Romney will indeed obtain the nomination from the GOP to run against Obama this November, there is no doubt I am somewhat disheartened, but at the same time I realize there is no doubt I will be voting for him simply because this election will be all about getting rid of that evil menace, Barack Obama,  that has somehow infiltrated our government thanks to uninformed voters in 2008.

If you don’t believe me watch the Glen Beck video, as I did last night, entitled Rumors of War III, which I'll be posting soon, but I won’t get into that right now. Let’s just say that if you had any doubts about whether you thought Obama was a bad guy or not, you won’t after you watch this video. There is no doubt in my mind that he must be defeated and I’m confident he will be by a very convincing mandate, although I’m not convinced it will be by a landslide as Rush Limbaugh predicted recently on his talk radio show. On the other hand I have very rarely known Rush to be wrong about anything, and I’ve been listening to him since 1993. And thanks to my 24/7 club membership and my Ipod I never miss anything he says anymore.

The problem I have is that the enthusiasm for Romney’s candidacy is basically non existent at the moment in my heart, and I feel quite agitated towards those who rejected the great forum of conservative candidates we had running and have been supporting him this campaign season. In fact, when a well meaning Romney supporter called asking for a donation, recently,  I was so repulsed by his shpeel, I hung up on him before he got two paragraphs into his recitation of the script. Poor guy. But what am I to do? And it suddenly occurs to me that if I feel that way, I’m sure many other conservatives do as well. But don’t worry, it shouldn’t keep us from the polls, in November, even if we have to knock on doors to known conservatives, passing out clothespins to take with them to the voting booths.

At the moment I see Governor Romney as a very slick politician and major flip flopper, on the issues, as his record in Massachusetts shows. He’ll be whatever he needs to be to succeed. In Massachusetts he had to run to the left of Teddy Kennedy and govern as a progressive as he needed to in order to deal with the Democrat controlled Massachusetts legislature and a large independent electorate, until he began setting his eyes on the White House and instantly over night he became a pro-life conservative. Aids said he always had been, of course, but somehow that message never got out when he was seeking the votes of liberals. I guess he just forgot. (NOT!) Anyway, as Rush Limbaugh said, his speech in New Hampshire last night following victories in five states was a great conservative speech, one of the best speeches he has made. So keep praying for him. ________________________________________________________________________

Google Searches For "Columbian Prostitutes" Are The Latest Craze
Most of the hits at the jazzpatriot the last couple of days have been from people doing google seaches on “Columbian prostitutes” and landing on my article entitled “The US Secret Service Under Fire”, as well as the photo of the bikini clad woman that has shaken up the U.S. Secret Service.

I appreciate the unexpected surge in visitors, but I’m not harboring any illusions it is because of the quality of my articles. No I’m sure it’s due to the old marketing adage that I learned from faithfully watching Mad Men every Sunday evening the last 4 years as well as on Comcast On Demand in between their short seasons and that is “Sex Sells”. And if I could add my two cents worth to that philosophy that began taking place in the 1960’s up until now, I would add the caveat, “in an immoral culture like ours”, but I understand that would probably not boost sales figures, after all in addition to my music degree, I also have a business degree..

Mad Men

By the way, while we are discussing “Mad Men”. What is going on with that show this season? Don Draper (Jon Hamm) has suddenly become the classic family man, madly in love with his new bride, and refusing to give other women the time of day.

Don Draper? The ultimate womanizer, who abandoned his former super model wife, Betty and their loving children while keeping his true identity hidden from them? Meanwhile the rest of the male executives at Sterling, Cooper. Draper and Price have abandoned any semblance of marital fidelity in their own personal lives.

Even Pete, the weasil,  has wandered down the narrow road that leads to sexual depravity. Of course one could argue he entered the world of soap opera type dalliances when he impregnated the new girl, Peggy, during her first day on the job, unbeknownst to him until long after she had given up their child for adoption, thus prompting the season II finale with him holding the shotgun that he had purchased when he exchanged  the second “chip and dip” dish he and his new bride received for a wedding present.

I feel better now that I was able to get that out, don't you? Anyway, I suppose it goes without saying that Pete got past that, but now he seems to be indulging in the same type of recreational sex that is plaguing the United States Secret Service, and I’m quite concerned about it.

Well I have to go now and see what is going on in the real world...Later. .

If I Wanted America To Fail...

This is a brilliant piece loaded with astute observations. To sum it all up, I'd say: If I wanted America to Fail, I'd vote for Barack Obama and Congressional Democrats.

A True Conservative's Reaction to Mitt Romney's "Imminent" Nomination (Part I)

Well it looks like the verdict is in . The war is over, and conservatives have lost in the fight to nominate a true conservative to replace Barack Obama.. At least that is what the media, the polls and our beloved  establishment consultants are all saying. Mitt Romney is the One.

But wait a minute, I'm thinking, I thought we conservatives were dedicated to voting our values. I know that is the purpose of one of my favorite web sites, Vote Core Values here in Massachusetts and that is not just because I will soon be writing a column there, hopefully, but  it's because true conservatives are people of principle.

Those of us who are also Christians, regardless of denomination, also believe that some day we will have to stand before God and account for what we did here on earth, not for the purpose of salvation, but for how we represented our Lord and saw to it that His will was carried out here on earth as it is in heaven, particularly on moral issues that affect our culture. In the book of Genesis before the fall of man, we were all commanded to be "fruitfil and multiply and to subdue the  earth, which implies the creation and control of our culture, atleast that is my opinion. There is no way I can support representatives who subvert God's will in their policies and I'm talking specifically about abortion and homosexual activism in our schools and communities. The very act itself is advancing a religion or set of moral beliefs that is contrary to the beliefs of the majority of citizens in this country who for the most part are conservatives whether they know it or not, atleast in the way they live their lives.

Then why are we ready to throw in the towel in this election? There are still two republican candidates left, and I think the supporters of both Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich need to take advantage of the time left before going to Tampa to make a case for their candidates.

I mean...why are we allowing the media, the pollsters, and the left to select our candidate once again?

I believe in my heart, there is still time to find the strength in character and strong moral purpose to go to  Tampa and tear things up. A brokered convention that nominates either Newt Gingrich or Ron Paul is the only solution at this point, and to be truthful I'm leaning toward's Newt, but first I’d like to review how I arrived at this point in my thinking, at the risk of coming across as a hopeless narcissist.

So what do we have here? The last man standing, according to the experts,  is indeed the moderate, politically correct,  former one term governor of the most liberal state in the country, who has taken every position under the sun on every issue imaginable in a fairly short time span and would never think of offending a sitting President, never mind the first African American president,  by referring to him as a socialist/marxist, even if he is one.

No, not our Mitt,  (I wasn't done yet) ... he saves his name calling for fellow Republicans in expensive nasty personal attack ads filled with lies and  distortions about his opponent's record, particularly when they're a social conservative and they begin to challenge his frontrunner status. Oh well, you know what George H. W. Bush use to say about politics not being beanbag. By the way, what's a beanbag?
Anyway the process has come to a close, atleast that is what we're being told, and once again conservatives have no choice but to vote for a moderate, who seems articulate enough during his interviews but doesn't seem to be willing to go for the jugular and empty his heart of the same kind of frustrations and outrage that led common citizens, veterans, and grandmothers to attend town meetings and tea party rallys in a peaceful uproar in 2010 and plead for a stop to the madness and endless spending that they feared would soon bring America to its knees.

I understand the anger and frustration better than ever now. I felt it too, which is why I started the Jazz Patriot blog down here on the Massachusetts South Coast where it gets lonely being a conservative republican sometimes, especially a social conservative.

Actually I don't like the term social conservative. The issues that concern so called "social conservatives" are really moral issues. If you have a problem with my view towards the mindless slaughter of babies or homosexual behavior/gay marriage etc take it up with God, not me. He is the one that considers such things sinful and even an abomination in the case of homosexuality. All I try to do in my  imperfect way is live my life by faith and obedience and trust in the Word of God.

If you don't like what  God has to say in His Word, then you'll have the opportunity to discuss it with him some day when you  stand before him at the White Throne Judgement, if you haven't accepted and believed sincerely in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins and was raised from the dead for you before then. And good luck with that. I hope you don't plan on calling Him an intolerant bigot, gay basher, or a social dinosaur, because it won't help matters at that point.

Anyway just because the tantrum I've been throwing since Santorum withdrew from the race has subsided somewhat doesn't mean I've overcome the frustrations of being a conservative in the GOP today, especially the MA GOP.  (By the way I hadn't committed myself to either Santorum or Gingrich and in fact had contributed to both campaigns, as well as Bachman's and Cain's.) Let's see, I'm talking about the frustration of being a conservative.

I mean...where is the Republican politician these days that can even remotely express himself and stay on point the way Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, or Mark Levin can leaving liberals unable to dispute the truth and with no recourse but to attack the source with insulting retorts of a personal nature rather than to engage in an intelligent discussion of ideas. And the only real spokesmen we have are our elected representatives.

And I don't even want to mention the fact that during his tenure in Massachusetts Governor Romney was all over the board on social issues, excuse me moral issues, doing everything he could to help the powerful homosexual lobby promote their agenda, even nominating gay/lesbian judges with known anti-family agendas. His big government health care bill is said to be the model for “ObamaCare" on a smaller scale but with no less devastating results at  the state level.

I hope I'm wrong about this guy. He seems likable, intelligent, competent as a businessman, and seems to have a great marriage and family. I mean it's not like he has a progressive record and a bad habit of changing his positions on the issues or being so ambitious, he'll say anything you want to hear...NOT! And it's not like he has this thing against  social conservatives. (There is that word again) Oh no...not Mitt.

Well...Just take a look at the handpicked Romneyites that still run the MA GOP starting with Bob Maginn who we learned is an equal opportunity campaign contributor, regardless of political party. Just ask some of his grateful admirers like  Senator Chucky Schumer of New York, who received $1200 from Maginn, the future leader of the MA GOP; and our own democrat governor, Deval Patrick, who received $500 from "Bribing Bob" while running against the GOP nominee, Charlie Baker in 2010. What a guy! This is Romney's man on the spot, selected to deliver the MA GOP into the promised land of electoral bliss and he has a history of donating money to Democrats and bribing state committee members with dinners and free web pages when he needs their vote. Is this how Romney's people intend to get their agenda passed in Congress, through bribing other congressmen?.

A long time business associate of Romney, Maginn still has other Romneyites to talk to when discussing who to bribe next after the entrenched establishment candidate for Vice Chairman, Jeanne Kangas was narrowly relected last week over her conservative opponent, Steve Aylward. Although the election was close and the conservatives came close to pulling off a remarkable upset, the entrenched remnant of Romney supporters that  now exist to make life a living hell for the 21 new conservative members on the State Committee managed to hang on to their threshold of power by the skin of their teeth.

As Rick Santorum said in his withdrawal speech this week, "the work isn't finished yet", and that's true for the advancement of conservatism in the MA GOP as well, but it's certainly a good start. At least we can hold our head up high with  other conservatives around the country who are continuing to challenge RINOs and moderates who insist on running the grand old party into the ground.

If  Romney doesn't get the message that America is mainly a Conservative Country and the Tea Party and Social Conservatives are here to stay, he will before he moves into his new surroundings, God willing, because conservatives aren't going anywhere either in Massachusetts or the other "49" states that Obama will soon be relinquishing control over. That's right Mr President, they're are 50 states.

And while I'm thinking of it, what kind of an American President would make an unconscious slip of the tongue and refer to the 57 Islamic states instead of the 50 American states. That must have been ingrained in him from his youth the way I learned about the names of all the states in the United States of America  in the fifth grade as well as the names of the state capitols. Of  course I didn't go to school in an Islamic madrasa, and I sure hope our president didn't either, but how do we know for sure. We all fumble with our words at times, but this slip of the tongue was very telling about our  President. Why was this man not vetted more thoroughly by the media? Why are those that make a simple request about his birthplace and authenticity of his birth certificate made to appear as idiots when ensuring that the only requirement to be President of the United States is fulfilled beyond a shadow of a doubt?

Before closing friends, did you hear about the meeting Romney had with Rush Limbaugh recently? Apparently he convinced Rush he would be far more conservative than anyone is expecting while he cuts and slashes his way to Mount Rushmore, rebuilding the military and saving the country along the way from sharing the same fate as Greece and other European countries in financial ruin. If that happens I'll gladly wipe the egg off my face and apologize for my cynicism.

He also told Rush, that he really believes he'll only be a one term president for what he plans to do with his pencil starting on his first day in office. And that is probably true, if he is being honest, as I can only imagine the kind of demonization and hostility he would receive from the media and congressional democrats if he actually began making real responsible cuts without all the smoke and mirrors we're use to seeing in Democrat budget proposals.

First, however, he has to get elected, but "not to worry friends". Don't listen to the state run media or pay attention to the polls. The American people aren't stupid. They're hurting right now. They still have to purchase gasoline and food products. Obama's ineptitude is the one thing we have going for us.

I mean...this election was always going to be about Barack Obama's disastrous first term in office, his socialist agenda and his gross mismanagement of the economy, no matter who ran against him, and I don't see that changing one bit down the stretch, no matter how divisive he becomes during his desperate attempt  to save his presidency.

The only question is which Mitt Romney are we going to get if he does win the election.  The one who turned the Olympics into a prosperous venture or the one that created a big government health care system, raised taxes, disregarded the concerns of social conservatives, and boasted about being to the left of Teddy Kennedy. I can't wait to find out, but as long as the next President is not Barack Obama we still have a fighting chance, I was thinking last week.

My reasoning at the time was simply that Mitt Romney was not Barack Obama. Did you hear me? I think that’s it.

MITT ROMNEY WAS NOT BARACK OBAMA! Wow, what a revelation I thought.
.
And then I received another mystical revelation when I heard Glen Beck say in a speech to the NRA.

MITT ROMNEY IS NOT A COMMUNIST!

So there it was: Mitt Romney might be a lot of things I wished he weren't and he might not be a lot of things I  wished he were and some of those things might be true and some might not be (Are you still following me?) but I said it again:

MITT ROMNEY WAS NOT BARACK OBAMA AND MITT ROMNEY WAS NOT A COMMUNIST.

Hey it was something! And was it not important? Apparently Glen Beck thought so, and I loved Glen Beck, but why did I feel so uncomfortable?. Was I still having a tantrum? Perhaps, but maybe there was  another solution that could give me a little more peace of mind, as well as bring and end to this endless yawning I've endured ever since I came to grips with the idea that Romney was on his way to obtaining the nomination.

But wait, we still have the option of going to Tampa and I came to that conclusion only yesterday Aprill 21, 2012 after reading an article  by Tamara Heater entitled "I Want The Arch Enemy of the Left In the White House Period", where she made a convincing case for Newt Gingrich, calling for a brokered convention.

So as I stated in the first paragraph I haven't crossed that out yet as a viable option, after all the future of America is at stake and I'm not ready to take a knife to a gunfight, as Tamara said so eloquently in her post,  which is what I feel we will be doing if Mitt Romney is our nominee? And why do I feel that way, you ask?.

Well Mitt Romney is not the man of strength, moral courage, and character I'm looking for. Come on...be honest, he's a major flip flopper, on the issues. He'll say what ever he thinks you want to hear, as most politicians do to a certain extent, but not like Mitt. Even his meeting with Rush Limbaugh sounds suspect to me.

As I continue to think this through, I think it really may be time to take another look at Newt Gingrich.

At the Free Republic Web Site where I discovered the provocative article, I left a comment where I said basically that it's too late and that Romney has the nomination locked up. A blogger named "No" responded:
Not if there's a floor fight. Not if delegates vote their consciences. Not if delegates really come to terms with the fact that this is for the existence of the Republic, the United States of America.

Wow, I thought, all I can say to “NO” is “Yes”, I agree, which is why I came out for Newt in the beginning of this piece, which has even surprised me during the last couple of days. And if you are not completely satisfied with Romney as your candidate you might consider my postition as well. Tampa, here we come!

A True Conservative's Reaction To Mitt Romney's "Imminent" Nomination (Part II)

My initial reaction following Rick Santorum's  announcement that he was withdrawing from the race, and that a moderate, Mitt Romney would be the nominee was probably not unlike that of many conservatives, especially social conservatives. Surprise. Disappointment. And then anger at the GOP establishment.

I mean I thought the very idea that Mitt Romney was in the process of being selected to galvanize the Tea Party movement and continue the momentum that started with victories in various elections around the country in 2010 , including governor's races in Virginia and New Jersey, Scott Brown's Massachusetts Miracle, and an incredible sweep of the 2010 congressional elections that returned control of the House of Representatives to the Republican Party, was a joke. It had to be!

Wait a minute, I continued. Are you sure Romney is the one we have selected to continue this momentum forward? This can't be right. Romney? How did he end up with the keys to the kingdom? What happened to legitimate tea party leaders like Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, Rick Perry, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, and even that strange little 76 year old constitutionalist sparkplug with a college age fan base...Ron Paul.

Of course, I knew that wasn't why the GOP establishment preferred Romney from the very beginning, which I'll get into in a second. But it is clear that they discarded the usual strategy of running on the right in the primaries and moving to the center in the general election, despite the phenomincal success achieved in 2010. Of course, that was a grassroots victory, inspite of all efforts to defeat conservative and tea party candidates nationwide, by the GOP no it all consultants.

This time they intentionally selected a moderate from the very beginning, which made me feel even worse and caused me to question the sanity of the GOP consultant class these days..

Then I started feeling sorry for my self, and throwing a bit of a tantrum, probably, not unlike some of  you did by saying...You have got to be kidding me! Why does this always happen to me? I mean...In 1994, Newt Gingrich and the GOP rode the conservative wave to gain a  republican majority in the House for the first time in 40 years sending the hopes of true conservatives like myself through the roof before the Democrats and the mainstream  media began demonizing every responsible action he took to get the budget under control, including shutting  down the government and successfully blaming the Republicans for it.

And then the Dems lost all sense of dignity by accusing Republicans of starving children for cutting the growth rate of the school lunch program, for example. They didn't eliminate the program or even reduce the budget from it's previous levels, they just slowed the rate of growth. But the truth didn't matter to Bill Clinton and Congressional Democrats and it won't matter this year, either, when Obama, Reid, and Pelosi continue critizing Paul Ryan's budget and attempt to portray him and Republicans as cold hearted,  as can be seen in the following photo of Speaker Gingrich, who was portrayed as Ebineezer Scrooge for his agressive, but responsible budget cutting attempts.
And  then we found out Bob Dole was intent on becoming the nominee.  What? Bob Dole? (more yawning) .

And then Sarah Palin arrives on the scene in 2008 lifting our spirits once again until we realized that John McCain and his RINO staff would still be the one mapping strategy including not saying anything offensive about his opponent.

McCain was also tasked with putting together his own coherent thoughts and sentences at times, a major challenge and an  issue that has plagued republican establishment frontrunners in the past, according to media elites who consistently and proudly point out grammatical errors at will. Democrats on the other hand are allowed to blame their teleprompters, even if they're speaking to an informal gathering of kids.

At least Ronald Reagan was able to express his ideas loud and clear, but that won’t stop Obama and the Democrats from lying about his record during the up and coming campaign. Already they’re saying "Reagan increased taxes for the rich" when everyone knows he reduced the rates from 70% to 28%. Unbelievable!

I hope Mitt is ready for that, I thought, and is ready to mount a defense against the Occupy Wall Street malcontents, as well, who are already preparing for demonstrations and possibly riots in  the streets of America this summer aimed specifically at him and supported secretly by the White House, George Soros, and the mainstream media, which is  no longer interested in reporting the news, only in spewing democrat lies and propaganda.

Anyway….congratulations to Rick Santorum for lasting as long as he did, I pondered, but I suppose I knew in my heart it was over before it started. Still I had such optimism that a true conservative would finally be elected that respected the Constitution and would be able to stop the dangerous spiral down the road towards European style socialism that we were presently embarked on.

In fact, in a post back in January,  I jotted down my thoughts for GOP rally cheers that seem to summarize the attitude of conservatives at the time as we looked at what appeared to be a never ending line of candidates on the stage just prior to the Iowa Caucus. Now that Santorum is officially out, and Gingrich and Paul have no chance what-so-ever according to most of the "experts",  I decided to take a look at it again.

It goes like this...Join in now...don't be shy...

Bachman, Bachman, she’s our man if she can’t do it, Perry can.
Perry, Perry he’s our man, if he can’t do it Cain can.
Cain, Cain, he’s our man, if he can’t do it, Newt can.
Newt, Newt he’s our man, if he can’t do it, RP can.
RP, RP he’s our man, if he can’t do it, Santorum can.
Santorum, Santorum he’s our man, if he can’t do it Romney can.
Romney, Romney he’s our man …(Pause)
(Deep Sigh)....
Sarah, Sarah, she's our man, etc.

As I was saying... when the debates first began we had a stage full of "non Romney"  candidates that warmed the conservative cockles of my heart and then the mainstream media went after them one by one and with a vengeance reminiscent of the despicable behavior they displayed during the eight years of non stop hostility, vicious attacks and frothing of the mouth directed at George W Bush and his inner circle. And this time they had help from conservative media elites like George Will, Charles Krauthammer, and Karl Rove, believe it or not.

The theory goes that all these GOP establishment consultants and even the token conservatives that frequent  Beltway dinner parties stopped believing that a conservative Republican could be victorious in a general election when Lyndon Johnson wiped the floor with Barry Goldwater in 1964. And it doesn’t matter that Ronald Reagan stood that theory on it’s head in both 1980 and 1984, ignoring the mainstream media in the process, faking deafness when reporters yelled questions at him across the White House lawn and airport tarmacs.

Interestingly enough, Romney was spared the media's wrath until Occupy Wall Street emerged unexpectedly and George Stephanopoulos, out of the blue one night brought up the subject of contraception in a clearly designed strategy crafted by the White House and the Soros funded group, Media Matters. This tact was designed to divert attention from the fact Obama was doing poorly in polls with women and the only thing that could improve his numbers with that group was a contrived War on Women, via a fight with the Catholic Church over the first amendment of the Constitution.

Unfortunately Rush Limbaugh fell into a malicious trap,  that had been used on  Glen Beck's advertisers and was now waiting for Limbaugh when Sandra Fluke entered the stage and Rick Santorum got hurt very badly through no fault of his own, while Mitt smiled approvingly. The GOP, as a whole though, apparently took a hit with women, if you believe the White House talking points and polls about the increased gender gap, which I don't and either should you.  It makes no sense. Women still have to feed their families and fill their mini vans up at the pumps before driving their kids everywhere as they do now. .

In actuality the "forces of darkness", and I'm sorry but I'm not just speaking metaphorically, had already started going after Sarah Palin when the Democrat Party and their allies in the media sent an army of lawyers and liberal operatives on a  witch hunt to Alaska  way back in 2008 when she was a vice-presidential candidate. After all they couldn't allow a conservative woman with a proven record of leadership to end up in the White House some day anymore than they could allow a conservative African American like Herman Cain calling the shots from the Oval Office either.

Can you imagine the uproar that would have occurred if republicans had done that to Obama or Joe Biden, threatening them  with law suits and forcing them  to find ways to pay for their legal fees. Although Governor Palin never officially announced her candidacy,  it was over before she ever had a real opportunity thanks to the perky Katie Couric and Tina Fay of Saturday Night Live. (There are still people that believe poor Sarah was the one who said she could see Russia from her house, when it  was really Tina Fay).

Next entering the abyss, head first,. was Michelle Bachman, who became a victim of the same type of vitriol directed at conservative women that Sarah Palin had been experiencing for years and Ann Romney,  began experiencing recently when she was attacked for being a stay at home Mom and having the audacity to voice her concerns about women in the workplace, as if the former first lady of Massachusetts and mother of five boys doesn't understand what it means to work.
And she was followed by Rick Perry, who turned into a laughing stock among liberals immediately when he couldn't remember one of the agencies he wanted to eliminate during his first debate, namely the Department of Commerce. It's funny, but I don't remember any of my liberal friends laughing when Obama spoke of visiting all fifty-seven states or when he referred to a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman as Corpseman as in a dead body. As someone who served in the Navy, I had a hard time getting over that one.

Then a different type of woman started coming out of the woodwork and Herman Cain disappeared from the stage faster than you could say 9-9-9. Romney's money and nasty add campaign via his political pacts took care of Newt Gingrich, leaving him  with debts as high as his hopes of becoming president once were.

Finally Rick Santorum surprised everyone for even making an appearance, never mind winning in eleven states, scaring the crap out of Romney as well as the entire GOP establishment. Jon Huntsman, remember him, withdrew before he ever became recognizable outside of Utah, largely because very few observers  ever took him seriously. After all he did serve in the Obama administration as Ambassador to China. Can you say RINO? Give me a break!

Oh and don't forget Ron Paul who could possibly still have a chance if Romney stumbles and Newt Gingrich  keeps talking, though I still think he's your basic crackpot, with apologies to many of my conservative friends who have high regard for his strict reading of the constitution, as do I. and who knows maybe they're not completely off kilter after all. His views on foreign policy, however,  simply do not seem to fit in with the Reagon model of Conservatism to me.

So where do we stand now? As I said in the first article in this two part series, we still have the option of going to Tampa and bringing the matter to the floor. We have two candidates left at this writing and Romney is still far short of the number of delegates need to clinch the nomination. I also trust in the fact that Newt seems to think that bringing the fight to the floor is a viable option, so we'll just have to wait and see. I know that I'm not content with Romney's selection and I know that many of you are not either. We're being told to forget about our selfish values and to bite the bullet for the sake of the country, as if that is our only option.

As I said in the first article, I'm not ready to take a knife to a gunfight, which is what I feel we will be doing if Mitt Romney is our nominee? And why do I feel that way, you ask?.

Once again I'll say that Mitt Romney is not the man of strength, moral courage, and character I'm looking  for and as I continue to think this through, I think it really may be time to take another look at Newt Gingrich, so stay tuned folks, Newt may be on the verge of making another comeback from the dead in an incredible campaign finale at Tampa. Stay tuned and don't give up yet!

The U.S. Secret Service Under Fire

Today’s topic is not something I’m happy about exploring, but it serves no purpose to look the other way, as the  mainstream media does on matters that could reflect badly on Obama, especially in an election year.

I don't think it's a matter that anyone will blame Obama directly for, after all his name isn't Bill Clinton, the man who could get away with rape and in actuality did.

Many people might be surprised that the US Secret Service agency, usually associated with people of the highest intelligence and character, would have to deal with the kind of behavior you'd expect from sailors overseas on liberty, but I’m not.

I have never been a member of the Secret Service, but I did serve in the US Navy for many years in a job that gave me the opportunity to travel to many countries that the average sailor did not, and I am quite familiar with the culture and temptations that exist for young viral men in many third world countries and the pressures that are exerted on them from both their peers and supervisors, who are usually the ones that write their evaluation or fitness reports, by the way.

I'm not judging anyone, particularly the women who either voluntarily engage in the world’s oldest profession as a matter of survival, or are coerced into such behavior.

The main concern is that classified information such as travelling schedules could be ascertained by people with terrorist connections. When I was in the Navy on a cruise to South America, the condidtions in Columbia were considered so dangerous that the ship did not allow it's sailors to go on liberty in the mainland. Instead we had a private beach party on a nearby island off the coast. Even though the Secret Service is very careful with who they discuss classified information with, you never know what could be revealed during intimate relations with a beautiful woman, or as they say during "pillow talk".

When I use to travel to the US Navy base at Subic Bay Phillipines, a place where prostitution abounded just outside the gates, we use to laugh about how easy it was to find out when such and such an aircraft carrier or ship was due in port. This type of highly classified information was readily available by asking the working girls in the clubs. Their boyfriends stationed aboard Navy vessels were writing them or telephoning them about such information, which we would like to know about in order to make purchases at the exchange before the shelfs went bare after the arrival of a large aircraft carrier say.

Anyway...the point is, men talk to their girlfriends, as part of the flirtation process and the same applies to women in such positions of confidentiality. What is needed to hold them in check is leadership and constant training on how our enemies obtain secret information that can endanger US security and that starts at the top. A great leader sets the tone by his honesty, character, and ability to articulate what he expects from the Directors or Department Heads he appoints to execute his policies, as well as the underlings that should be using him as a role model. And make no mistake about it, they are the President’s policies. He simply cannot assume they understand their jobs. They need to be monitored and guidlines must be established at the beginning before an embarrasing incident like this occurs.

When I first started travelling the world as a young Navy musician, it was my supervisors and Chiefs who watched out for me, and I tried to do the same to young sailors when I became a Chief. It was the Admirals and Captains however that set the tone for the behavior that was expected of personnel who were in essence representing the United States in their travels abroad. And I got the message, eventually.

After I became a born again Christian at the age of 27, I lost my desire for such activities, anyway, and it became easier to resist temptation. In the Navy, we were constantly briefed about scams and ways to get  into trouble in various ports, and I would hope it would be the same way for the Secret Service, but apparently it wasn't.

I've always seen the behavior of troops while on liberty, however,  as an individual responsibility and a failure of leadership as well, when an incidident occurs. Harry Truman understood this with his oft reported slogan: The Bucks Stops Here. Barack Obama obviously doesn’t. Heck, he is still blaming George Bush for the disastrous economy that hasn’t created a single job since he has been President, despite what his phony jobs reports say. I’m not saying President Obama, doesn’t portray exemplary character in his personal life and there is no evidence to suggest  his predecessor George W Bush did not either.

Bill Clinton? Well, that is another story, as portrayed in the humorous portrait  on yhr right that has been circulating the internet. And who knows, maybe that is when the problem with the Secret Service began.

Regardless, when an incident such as this occurs, as it did with the woman in the flirtateous photo above that went virol over the internet on Wednesday and it  also involves supervisors behaving in the same manner, there must be a culture of behavior that has been allowed to exist for a long time. And the people that are accountable are the ones at the very top of the pyramid. Who else can we start with?

I mean...what's going on with the secret service? I remember years ago reading that the Secret Service agents guarding President Kennedy were hung over the day he was assasinated  in Dallas, Texas in 1963. As far as I know that was never investigated. Maybe if it had been, this habit of carousing on road trips might have been nipped in the bud years ago.

A thorough investigation needs to be initiated by an outside source, not an internal investigation and not a blue ribbon panel appointed by the President either. Those only exist to absolve those in power of any responsibility. And it shouldn’t be political either like the one that went after Scooter Libby, Carl Rove, and Cheney or the 9/11 investigation farce. Just an honest investigation that puts the country’s security priorities above all else and seeks to determine how this type of behavior could be more controlled, and or eliminated, which I don't think is possible entirely, unless the Secret Service initiates a policy of hiring eunichs only..

Glen Beck's Inspiring Speech to the NRA (April 15, 2012)

In my previous post, A Conservative's Reaction to Romney's Imminent Nomination,   I spent a great deal of time soul searching through the 2012 GOP Presidential Primary campaign explaining how conservatives began the campaign quite excited and optimistic and ended less than enthusiastic about the apparent nominee Mitt Romney. But by the time I reached the end of a very long article I had changed my mind and was now embracing Mitt Romney’s candidacy with renewed optimism simply because his name wasn’t Barack OBama and he wasn’t a communist, which of course is an oversimplification. Staying home on election day might feel good to a person of principle, like most Christian conservatives are, but wouldn't we just be pounding another nail in America's coffin by electing Barack Obama? In the above video it is obvious that Glen Beck has reached the same conclusion in this very inspiring speech to the NRA on April 15, 2012.

Obama's Pastor

I listened  to Meet the Press vehemntly examine  Mit Romney's mormonism yesterday with exasperating detail in what could only be described as a bigoted tirade on behalf of the liberal anchor, David Gregory,  I wonder if the mainstream media, not just Fox News and Conservative Talk Radio, will finally take a look at the man who's church Obama and his family attended for 20 years.

I've never heard a Christian filled with such hate as the Reverand Wright in any of the churches I ever attended, never mind a pastor. Where is the aura of godliness, holiness, and righteousness one would expect to see from a man of God. I see nothing but hate and hostility. Compare this tirade to the Amazing Grace sermon and musical performance given in my previous post by Wintley Phipps, which brought both white and black Christians  in his audience together in such a loved filled and stirring way.

Wright, who has been preaching since he was ordained in 1967, spews nothing but hate and racial hatred to white people so it is no wonder there is so much despair and black on black crime being committed in Chicago where he spent so many years in the heart of the black community.

It's time for the media to do their job and tell us about OBama's relationship to this man because it is very troubling as are many other things we don't really know about the President's youth, parents, time spent in Indonesia and Pakistan, and his radical associates at Columbia, Harvard, and the University of Chicago.

Amazing Grace

There is only one thing I'm thinking about on this glorious Easter Sunday and that is that Jesus Christ died for my sins, was buried, and rose from the dead for me...for me...for me. (I Corinthians 15: 1-4). I was saved on Feb 28, 1975 while reciting this prayer in my own words on my knees in  my hotel room in Frankfurt, Germany, during a confusing time in my life. If you recite them and tell God in your own words that you don't understand everything but you want to, God will help you understand. But you must be sincere, and you must believe. And when you do, I promise you you'll never be the same again.

God Smiling At Us ...

Hi everyone. I hope you're enjoying this beautiful Easter weekend. Isn't this photo great? It's entitled "God Smiling". You should take as much time as you like before moving on, because it's such a breath taking vision...

Okay...

Now lets move on, when ever you're ready.

I know. Wow...
______________________________________________________________________
In keeping with the tone of my last three posts, today’s thoughts once again concern social conservatism here in the state of Massachusetts, which was once the cradle of Christianity and high moral standards in America, by the way. Times sure have changed, haven't they?

On this weekend in which we observe the Jewish Passover and the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, I believe it's appropriate to delve a little deeper into the more spiritual underpinnings of true conservatism than I normally do To ignore the influence of Judaeo/Christian principles on conservatism  is to continue hiding in the weeds, which the Massachusetts Republican Party has done for far to long.

In the Bible (Revelations 3:15, 16,) the resurrected Lord sent a message to the Laodicean Church through the Apostle John who was exiled on the Island of Patmos off of Greece in which He reprimanded this particular group of believers as well as the majority of believers in the present age we are living for being “lukewarm” Christians. In today’s political vernacular we could say they were moderates or even …CINOs (Christians in name only). And I can only conclude they were generally apathetic and indifferent to spreading their faith among the lost and creating a culture that brought glory to their Lord.

He went on to say that they were neither “cold nor hot” and would  “spit” them our of his mouth.

In other words this group made Him nauseous. How's that for an image in direct contrast to the one at the top of the page?

The lesson for political conservatives in these inspired words, which I hope you read in context at the end of this post, is that those who proudly proclaim themselves as conservatives as so many do in the MA GOP should also be willing  to stand up for what they believe with complete enthusiasm and not run from activists and candidates who boldly speak out against immoral practices such as abortion and gay marriage,  regardless of what that does to their election prospects. (the word enthusiasm comes from the Gr word “Entheos” which means “In God”)

Ridding the country of slavery was a top priority for the Party of Lincoln from it's very founding because the practice was simply not compatible with their faith in the holy God who they believed created all men equal and in His image. Today slavery is no longer a matter of concern in this country to people of faith, praise the Lord, but there certainly are other practices that must be abolished if we are to remain a free and blessed nation.  If you remove social conservatives from the Republican party, as the establishment is definetly attempting to do, you end up with nothing more than a “social country club” satisfied with being number “2” in the food chain  and totally incapable of winning elections or providing a deep contrast with Democrats in the mind of voters. You are also removing, I believe the strongest political coalition we have that is capable of stopping or atleast slowing down the present trend of America's decline..

And do you think we'll be able to stop that trend with liberal democrats or moderate republicans at the helm of our government that are so politically correct, they are scared of there own shadow. As Rush Limbaugh is fond of saying , there has never been a book written  entitled “The Great Moderates In History” and there never will be.

May you each enjoy a blessed Passover and/or Easter weekend.

The Letter to the Church in Laodicea (Revelations 3: 14-22)

14) To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:

The Amen , the faithful and the true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God, says this:

15) I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot.

16) So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.

17)          Because you say, I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing, and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked,

18)          I advise to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.

19)          Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent,

20)          Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

21)          He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also over came and sat down with My Father on His throne.

22)          He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

More on the Players in the War Against MA GOP Social Conservatives

I’m continuing where I left off in my previous post,  Conservative Political Winds Hit Hard On Massachusetts South Coast,  by taking a closer look at some of the players in the MA GOP in order to give social conservatives a little dose of reality about the forces that are arrayed against us like Celeste Wilson, (left) the MA GOP’s propaganda promoter and EX officio who recently called conservative organizations like MARA “dangerous” to the Mass GOP.

Those of us fighting in the trenches for the Sholley campaign in 2010 remember how she refused to put our press releases out as well as press releases for any other socially conservative organizations.

Now she is president of the Massachusetts Federation of Republican Women which is one more “Republican” organization in MA that has been thoroughly infiltrated by the left. She is hosting the MFRW luncheon meeting on April 21, 2012 that is loaded with liberal speakers including House Minority Leader Brad Jones(below) who tells new legislators that if they intend on not being invisible , they need to become a “team player” and understand that “around here” we do things one way___”the Romney way.
Other speakers on the podium that day will include Senate Minority Leader, Bruce Tarr; Representative Dan Winslow; Candidate Christopher Sheldon; and candidate Richard Tisei.(below)
Please note that Richard Tisei, author of the infamous “Bathroom Bill”, the most dangerous predatory bill to women and children in the state of Massachusetts is being supported by the Republican leadership in his run for office from the Massachusetts 6th Congressional District.

Of course it goes without saying that they refused to help a true social conservative, Bill Hudak, (above) who has decided to run a sticker campaign in lieu of a full time campaign and is hoping to receive support from Tea Partiers, 9/12ers and the Fatherhood Coalition.

Tisei, on the other hand, is getting financial support from Richard Mehlman, who is the openly gay Republican, like Tisei, who managed George W Bush’s re-election campaign in 2004, according to yesterdays edition of The Hill. Democrats used the news of the fundraiser, which was first reported by the Boston Globe, to argue that the Bush wing of the GOP had come out to support Tisei and a conservative agenda. Conservative agenda? My eye! I know what his agenda is and it ain’t conservative.

While I think of it. It has come to my attention that newly elected representative from the 12th Bristol District, Keiko Orrall, (above) from Lakeville, MA,  who recently won her office in a special election for which many of us on the South Coast held signs for her, apparently  has decided she no longer wants anything to do with certain social conservatives down here,  who pulled strings and worked their butt off for her last year. Could it be that some of the Rino operatives like Susan Blais, Brock Cordeiro, or Brad Jones got to her? I suppose only her hairdresser knows for sure, but  what a shame! Of course, I could be wrong, but we’ll see. My sources are usually pretty accurate.

Linda Rapoza, President of the "Mildred Fay Jefferson" 4th Congressional Chapter of the Massacusetts Republican Assembly (MARA) made some inciteful observations about this very subject in her latest  post in the Rapoza Report  when she eloquently stated: In too many cases, the newly elected official caves in to "pressure" from Beacon Hill to do things "a certain way" in order to get precious financial help for getting re-elected. Then why bother running for re-election? Who needs them? If their souls are for sale, what can they possibly offer us in a second term.

And that’s the problem folks. Social conservatives are under attack and we must never let our guard down. If we have any chance of taking our party back we must continue to put pressure on those who pridefully refer to themselves as conservatives and then fight vehemently against those who fight for traditional moral values. And I've got to tell you alot of these moderate country clubbers post regularly at Red Mass Group and to hear them talk you might think they were the most conservative Republicans in the universe until you take a closer look at how they avoid supporting social conservatives with impeccable credentials like the plague.

I’ve been told by Evangelical Christian teachers I respect that it’s not possible to legislate morality and I suppose I agree with that, but we certainly must oppose the forces of evil who are destroying our former culture based upon Christian/Judaeo values with blatantly evil legislation and policies like abortion, gay marriage, and enslavement to entitlement style governments with European style socialism and a single payer health care system that stifle the unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness discussed in the Declaration of Independence that we are all endowed with by our creator. All these things certainly must fall within the realm of immoral behavior and must be an essential concern of anyone who considers themselve to be a true conservative.

Ronald Reagan's three legs of Conservatism consisted of social conservatism, fiscal conservatism, and national security conservatism. It is impossible to be a true Conservative and not be willing to support Social Conservative concerns. It is also impossible to win elections when you only run as a wishy washy moderate, avoiding the discussion of social issues, and refuse to differentiate yourself from Democrats. We need to purge the MA GOP of all those in positions of power and influence who are intolerant of Social Conservatives and we need to do it quickly, before 11% dwindles to nothingness and total irrelevance, which is not far from where we're at now in this God forsaken political wilderness of Massachusetts.

Conservative Political Winds Hit Hard on Massachusetts South Coast

New Bedford ___ Now that I've had a little more time to think about it, the decision to remove Ken Pittman from WBSM’s lineup to make room for social Conservative Mike Huckabee fills a need in my opinion for a stronger social conservative voice on the station, whether that was their motive for doing so or not.

According to Republican State Committee member from the greater New Bedford area,  Brock Cordeiro, “Cumulus Media (the corporate owner in Atlanta) ordered budget cuts months ago, before the New Year, but the station held off until the bitter end.” In other words, according to one of the most entrenched establishment figures in the MA GOP,  it was purely a business decision.

Still I find the timing interesting that the decision was made at a time when Conservatives are gathering a stonger hold on the MA GOP after many years of progressive leadership and WBSM seems to be getting more and more conservative on a daily basis since Cumulus took over the reigns of the long time talk radio station last fall.

Ken Pittman, who like Cordeiro, prides himself in being a conservative, but in reality is simply another establishment Republican who always seems to support candidates who purposefully shy away from social issues to which I always think …”If not now….when? Talk about a bunch of spineless wimps down here in the bowels of the Massachusetts SouthCoast GOP.

In fact Pittman who I stated in my earlier post can be quite insulting accused me, a 26 year US Navy veteran of being a Nazi once because I opposed the position of the former head of the MA GOP, Jennifer Nassour,  when she came out in favor of gay marriage, which is hardly a conservative position. Me...a nazi! Bite me, Ken!

There is much evidence that Pittman, Cordeiro, and many other Republican establishment figures took up stands against prominent social conservative candidates in the past and are still targeting conservative activists, which is quite sad in a state where Republicans only comprise 11% of registered voters.

One prominent GOP establishment guru, Susan Blais of Attleboro, who has consulted for the campaigns of many GOP moderates in the past including Sean Bielat, and Scott Brown, recently told a source of mine at a meeting at the Shamut Diner in New Bedford, MA (which BTW is owned by another announcer from WBSM that survived the shakeup, Phil Paleologos, of her agenda to target specific social conservatives in the area who I’m proud to say are friends and mentors of mine.

This is the same Susan Blais who is presently giving training classes to prospective GOP candidates and was invited to speak to members of an RTC (republican town committee) in Fall River, MA  in 2008 and actually screamed at members to NEVER , EVER, discuss social issues in a campaign, especially abortion  and directed her venom at a great man of God and political hero of mine, Earl Sholley, who was running against Barney Frank in the 4th District GOP Congressional Primary at the time, with no help what-so-ever from the MA GOP .In 2010, I’ve been told Sholley's primary opponent, Sean Bielat, was receiving advice and guidance from Blais which explains why Sean appeared to be wishy washy on social issues during his campaign against both Sholley and Barney Frank, causing many South Coast Conservatives to either stay home on election day or leave that part of the ballot blank.

This is something that RINOs like Pittman, Cordeiro, and Blais never understand….you can’t win an election if you don’t energize your conservative base, as Rush Limbaugh says constantly. “Keep running moderates and you’ll lose”, as happened in 2008 with John McCain. Social Conservatives and particularly Catholic and Evangelical Conservatives are people of principle who are more concerned with standing before their God someday than they are in winning an election and now we're about to nominate another moderate, Mitt Romney….God Help Us! Every body join in the singing of “Where  Have All the Flowers Gone” please…”when will they ever learn…when will they ev…er…learn!”

Pittman, by the way, was running a private investigative service during the 2010 election cycle and  threatened that he would turn me into one of his "special projects" after I enthusiastically stood up for the candidate I was supporting during a blog discussion and even publicly revealed court records and distorted  reports of a very good man , Earl Sholley, while pretending he was an unbiased  member of the press instead of a political operative for Sean Bielats campaign. I only bring that up because I believe he should have been fired by WBSM for a conflict  of interest and mean spirited movtives  long before this, but that's just my opinion.  So as Obama's pastor, the Reverand Jerimiah Wright, once said...."What goes around,  comes around! Or was it...You're  chickens are coming home to roost or something? Whatever...

Anyway…despite all of the best efforts of the MA GOP establishment  to destroy the burgeoning conservative movement in MA, they failed to prevent what amounted to a long over due revolt by  grass roots activists from taking place on Mar 6, 2012 in the election for MA State Committee members, which was engineered very  quietly from within the ranks of social conservatives and tea party activists following the devestating and embarrasing defeats the  MA GOP  endured during the 2010 state and federal elections under-the-leadership of Nassour, Cordeiro, Blais and their  RINO allies, like Ken Pittman and many other "country clubbers".

The following press release posted by the National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA),  explains what happened.

MARA Members Win 17 Seats on Massachusetts GOP State Commitee
Posted by NFRA Staff • March 29, 2012

The Massachusetts Republican Party experienced a shakeup in the primary elections of March 6, 2012, thanks in large part to our members in the Massachusetts Republican Assembly.

The Boston Phoenix   featured the changes in a story by David S. Bernstein, “The Massachusetts Republican Party is Undergoing MassiveDisruption--Or Finding the Right Balance, Depending on Your View.” Bernstein traced the struggle of grassroots conservatives to reclaim their party and make party structures work for them on a local level and not just favor the “few elite, moderate, statewide candidates.”

The Phoenix noted that while Mitt Romney may have won the Massachusetts' national primary, “on the same ballot, Republicans also elected their state committee members: 80 in all, one man and one woman from each State Senate district. Thanks to retirements, redistricting, and some surprising upsets, more than 30 MassGOP state committee members were replaced — nearly half.”

The Massachusetts Republican Assembly was singled out as “one of the most active” among the grassroots groups: “MARA endorsed 36 candidates for state committee, 17 of whom won — including 14 new members. And four MARA board members are now on the MassGOP state committee.”

Among the MARA members elected to the committee were Marie Bergeron (district vice president), Mark Bergeron, Deborah Martell, Thomas McCarthy, Mike Potaski (Northeast Regional vice president), Sandra Martinez, Horace Mello (national committeeman), Kim Incampo, Steven Aylward (MARA state vice president), Joyce Kelly, Joe Ureneck, Timothy Sullivan (district vice president), and William Gillmeister. MARA state president David Kopacz, district president Linda Rapoza, and district president Sheila Mullen candidated for seats as well.

The new faces in the Massachusetts GOP are “not as old, or as rich, as has been the norm”--Bernstein observes that Horace Mello is a 23-year-old student at Bridgewater State-- and the NFRA is delighted that Mello, with MARA, are tweaking stereotypes.

We are so proud of MARA’s hard work for freedom and conservative principles. The work is indeed far from over, but we rejoice in MARA’s successfully making such a difference in Massachusetts!

Very informative Press Release. The photo in the lower left is another young conservative up and comer, Timothy Sullivan from Westport, MA who now represents his area on the GOP State Committee. Tim ousted David Rose who had been a thorn in the side of social conservatives for years.

Ken Pittman Removed from Lineup at WBSM in Fairhaven, MA

I was sorry to hear about the departure of Republican talk show host, Ken Pittman from WBSM in Fairhaven, MA (1420 AM). Ken’s audience consisted of a small but vibrant political constituency in the greater New Bedford area and his presence will be missed on the local scene.

The decision to remove Ken from the stations lineup was apparently a business decision made by the corporate ownership to make room for a new syndicated program hosted by former Arkansas Governor and 2008 GOP Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, who will in all likely hood fill a need for the views of a true social conservative and evangelical Christian, which has been absent from the region for as long as I can remember.

Ken and I had our differences during the 2010 Republican primary campaign on various Massachusetts political blogs in which his comments could be quite cutting and insulting at times as is quite typical of the rhetoric commonly used in the blogosphere, which I must admit I sometimes fall into myself, yet his demeanor on his radio show always seemed much more cordial to me. Of course there were times when he held  the feet of his debate opponents to the fire in a way in which Democrats are not use to on the Massachusetts South Coast as he did to Congressman Barney Frank and many local politicians and liberal media personnel on more than one occasion.

Yesterday the phone lines were abuzz on WBSM with furious callers outraged that an accomodation could not have been made to keep Ken in the stations lineup as apparently was made for the rest of their staff. Many felt that there was more to the story than the station's management was admitting. City Councillor Brian Gomes, himself a victim of Pittman's critical attacks over the years cited that his show filled a need for coverage of topics with a local flavor and remarked on the station's history of providing local talk shows, which is true. In fact, the first radio talk show I ever heard was "Openline" on WBSM hosted by Hal Peterson in the 1950's and I've enjoyed that format ever since. It's a shame Ken has to leave but we wish him the best in his future endeavors

If you'd like to express your opinion to the management of WBSM about their decision to remove Ken Pittman from the station's lineup of broadcasters, you may call them on the business line at (508)993-1767 or on the "Openline" at (508)996-0500.

Cumulus Media Sells WBSM    May 2, 2012
Since the above post was first published, radio station WBSM, 1420 AM has been sold to Townsquare Media of Greenwich, RI, opening an opportunity for Ken, I would think, to  mobilize his vast army of supporters to pressure the new owners to give Ken his job back. For more info on the sale as well as the void that has occurred at WBSM since Ken was fired and the inadequacy of their present coverage of local issues go to my latest post entitled RadioStation WBSM, 1420 AM Sold Again
