New Bedford, MA – Republican candidate and Plymouth County Charter Commissioner, Chris Sheldon, welcomed the endorsement of State Representative David Vieira and former Selectman candidate for the Town of Falmouth, Sheryl Kozens-Long.
With the election drawing close and after Mitt Romney’s second victory over President Barack Obama in the live televised debates, Chris Sheldon maintains a steady advantage over his Democrat incumbent.
State Representative Veira represents the 3rd Barnstable district and is a Falmouth Town meeting member and Moderator since 1998. This endorsement is significant as Rep Vieira has neverendorsed a candidate before.
Commenting on his endorsement of Sheldon, Rep Vieira says – “the Ninth Congressional District needs a strong voice for working families, small business, and traditional industries like fishing and agriculture. I believe Chris Sheldon is that voice. I know on election day I will cast my vote for Chris Sheldon as the vanguard of that belief”.
Sheryl Kozens-Long nailed her endorsement to the wall by insisting that it is vital that a Republican is returned to a Republican run House of Representatives -
“The people of the Ninth District will have a strong voice in the House if Chris is elected. A Republican from Massachusetts will have more clout and influence in the House than the entire Democratic delegation put together. It is vital that we reverse the destructive policies of the Democrats and the voting tendencies of the present incumbent.”
Chris Sheldon welcomed the endorsement and said this was a signal the people of the Ninth District are looking for a change –
“The Democrat incumbent has been in public office longer than I’ve been alive and has voted against repealing Obamacare – an extremely damaging law – 31 times; we simply cannot and must not carry on returning such people to office time and time again. My business background and influence within the House will provide the voice the Ninth District deserves. We must reverse the decline and decay of our country and a vote for my opponent will simply accentuate the process to rack and ruin. I’m here to stand up for American values and for the people of the Ninth District”, Sheldon concluded.
