This is truly a great day for
In reality it had only been formulated and discussed in private by Kennedy and a few of the elite with no public debate of any consequence They also refused to listen to the millions of irate citizens from across the entire political spectrum who were saying essentially “enforce the present laws and order the 700 miles of fence that was included in an earlier appropriations bill to actually be built instead of a only 2 miles of it. We also learned that the money in question was never intended to go to the fence building project, despite their outright lies, but would be used on “Amnesty matters”. They also implied those of us who opposed this ‘smoke and mirrors legislation” were “racists” and ignored the fact that most of us were not saying deport the illegal immigrants because we realized that would never happen. We also realized that even the so called punitive actions would be dropped once the illegals became legal, which must have sent Kennedy through the roof and muttering in a drunken stupor that the so called “Fairness" Doctrine must be reinstated to take Conservatives off the airwaves.
Anyway the real title of this bill should have been “The End of the Republican Party For Ever”. We knew that was what Kennedy dreamed about because he more than anyone understood from experience how easy it would be to get these new immigrants to vote for Democrats and join the masses already enslaved by the entitlement and welfare state governments that have never caused a single ghetto to disappear and never will as long as he and his liberal gang want to maintain a position of power and control over the lives of their victims.
Having said that however the Republicans were also thinking about their own political interests as well. There's no question they thought the hispanic community would contribute more votes on the Republican side of future election ballots but that was a big pipe dream and it certainly didn't endear them to Democrats eithier who simply stuck the knife in his back further (if that's possible) by blaming him and his "unpopular presidency" for the bill's failure.
The end result for now is that conservatives, some democrats, and some who aren't affiliated with any political party understood the importance of defeating this legislation and experienced first hand one of Democracy's greatest triumphs yesterday.
Yes folks...the battle continues for the heart and soul of
